Back in 2015, I was contacted for a high school senior portrait session. She was the referral from another High School senior session that I had done just a few weeks prior. This session was for sweet young lady named Kaylee. Her session ended up being one of the best high school senior sessions ever.
We did some pictures in the field and in front of the lake at Children’s Lake in Boiling Springs. It was so important for Kaylee to have pictures at Children’s Lake, because this is the place where she spent a lot of time with her grandfather. Kaylee’s grandfather really meant a lot to her and I was happy to be able to capture her at a location that meant so much to her. She also wanted some pictures in a city atmosphere, so next we went downtown Carlisle. I also did a headshot for Kaylee in the studio for her yearbook photo at Northern High School. It was at this session that I learned that Kaylee was interested in photography and looking for a part-time job. I knew she was the perfect fit for my assistant position.
She was such an amazing assistant to Henley Design Studio and I am so grateful for my time with her.
A few weeks ago, I messaged Kaylee about a location that she had posted on Snapchat. She responded and also told me that she had some news for me. Kaylee told me that she joined the Army. I was so happy for her and also proud. Having served in the Army myself, I know this is a great opportunity for her. Kaylee is bright, strong-willed, and very determined. I know that she will do extremely well as she departs to serve our country tomorrow.
When she told me her parents would like to have some family pictures before she left, I knew had to fit them in. It was snowing like crazy in Central PA, but nothing could stop us. After trucking through the snow to get to the studio, we were able to capture these beautiful images. I am so glad that Kaylee’s family will have these images before she goes off on her lifetime adventure.
I really got lucky when I met Kaylee and her family. She was such an amazing assistant. I am so thankful for my time with her and for the opportunity to meet family almost 3 year ago.
Now, go do great things my friend! I know you will do an amazing job! I look forward to hearing about your many success stories!
